Two fire appliances from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station and one fire appliance from Hayle Emergency Services Community Station were mobilised to a report of a fire involving electrics at an industrial premises. The first fire crew arrived within five minutes and they reported that smoke was issuing from the single-storey building, measuring 15 metres by 25 metres. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have used carbon dioxide (CO2) and dry powder extinguishers to put out the fire in the electrical intake. Engineers from Western Power Distribution are on scene to isolate the electricity supply and make it safe before firefighters make further investigations to ensure the fire has not spread.

Update 0440hrs: Tolvaddon fire crews are still on scene cutting away and using a thermal imaging camera and hosereel jet to ensure that the fire has not spread.

Update 0545hrs: Investigations complete, the last Tolvaddon crew has left the scene.
