On receipt of this call, both appliances from Newquay were mobilised, on arrival there was smoke seen to be issuing from a three storey mid terraced shop, with the fire located on the first floor, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property with a high powered hosereel jet and a fire blanket, further resources were requested, and an appliance from St. Columb attended, further teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were committed at the scene and also checked surrounding properties which were heavily smokelogged, the fire was extinguished and crews were delayed damping down and cutting away. Two casualties were treated at the scene by attending ambulance personnel, for the effects of smoke inhalation.
