Fire Involving Domestic Garage Attached To House

The first of two fire appliances from Newquay Community Fire Station was in attendance within 5 minutes at a fire involving a domestic garage attached to a house. Firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, used two hosereels and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire by 1245hrs. Two propane cylinders were removed from the garage to prevent them becoming involved in the fire.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire but it is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
