15:16 - 999 calls were received by the Critical Control Centre stating a property was on fire in St Day. Firefighters were mobilised and found the property well alight. The fire has spread to two properties in a terrace of 5 and rapidly spreading throughout the roof space. An assistance message was immediately made and seven crews from Tolvaddon, Truro, Falmouth, Hayle, Penzance along with, the aerial ladder platform from Newquay, command support from St Just, breathing apparatus support from Falmouth and the Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service (FESS) vehicle are on scene. Crews wearing breathing apparatus are tackling the fire using hose reel jets, main jets and two safety jets to try and save the property, good progress is being made. Police and Ambulance have been informed of this incident. This is all the information we have on this incident at present.
17:17 - Firefighters remain on scene fighting the fire, they are currently cutting away to gain access to timber cavities. Good progress is being made.
21:19 - The incident has now been scaled down to one appliance from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station in attendance. They will continue to monitor hotspots until it is safe to leave the scene, this should take approximately two hours. A fire investigation involving the Fire and Rescue Service and Western Power has been scheduled for Monday morning to determine the cause of the fire.
