At 10:52 a call was received to a large garage on fire. Nine firefighters on two appliances from Lostwithiel and Bodmin were mobilised to the scene. A second call was received from scene giving more details of the incident and due to the incident location a third fire appliance carrying six firefighters was mobilised to the scene. On arrival of the first fire appliance it was reported that there was a big plume of black smoke was issuing from the building. The building involved was a detached two storey double garage measuring 6 x 6 metres. The fire was in the roof space, initially two breathing apparatus were in use with one hose reel jet and one safety jet. At 11:30 crews confirmed that good progress was being made on the fire and four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one safety jet, a triple extension ladder and a roof ladder were in use at the incident. 11:43 crews remained on scene damping down hot spots wearing two breathing apparatus.
