One appliance from Newquay attended. The crew wearing breathing apparatus used one hosereel to extinguish the fires. The fire in Pergolla Road had spread from a bin to external fixtures of a building. The swift response by the crew prevented the fire spreading inside the building which would have undoubtedly caused thousands of pounds worth of damage. Arson is suspected and the police are now dealing. Arson is considered a serious crime and custodial sentences for persons found guilty of this offence, are commonplace.
