Specialist animal rescue crews from Bodmin Community Fire Station and further crews from Wadebridge have attended a call to a rare breed White Park cow who is in calf that had gone over the cliff and on to the rocks below some 40ft down. The crews had to await the attendance of a vet and rifleman to sedate the cow prior to being able to carry out the rescue. They, and some members of the crew where then lowered to the rocks.
Once the cow had been successfully sedated, crews were able to manoeuvre the cow into the animal rescue harness and carefully bring her back up to the top of the cliff. Despite her ordeal she is now back happily grazing in the field.
