Mud Rescue

At this current time the Fire Service are involved in the rescue of two people in a kayak stuck in mud at low tide on the River Fowey near St Winnow.
We have in attendance two appliances from Lostwithiel Fire Station, and two specialist Water Rescue Units one from St Austell Fire Station and one from Falmouth Fire Station a total of 21 crew and two Wholetime Officers.
The rescue of one adult male and one male child is being attempted as the tide is not due in until after dark and the safety of the pair is of concern.
The crews are therefore, using mud mats and lines to affect the rescue.
Update 1730hrs: The two people have been rescued by the firefighters and are safely on the river bank.
