On receipt of this call stating that a boat was on fire within the yard, appliances from Torpoint and Saltash were mobilised, on arrival the crew found one boat well alight also an outbuilding, a further resource was requested and a further appliance from Saltash attended.
At 21:01 hours a message was received that the fire in the boat measuring five metres by three metres had involved a structure measuring fifteen metres by three metres and was at risk of spreading to involve further boats, a further appliance was requested and an appliance from Devon & Somerset attended.
Currently there are teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus committed at the scene, three main jets are in use, two high pressure hosereel jets and ground monitors which are being used to cool the surrounding area. he Operational Support Vehicle from St. Austell and the Welfare Vehicle from St. Dennis are also in attendance.
Update 2230 hours: The fire has now been extinguished, crews are damping down hot spots and turning over the area.
Update 2345 hours: The incident has now been downscaled, resources are returning to their home stations, Torpoint resources remain damping down and turning over at this time.
