On receipt of this call, appliances from Wadebridge and Delabole as well as a Wholetime Officer were mobilised. On arrival at the scene smoke was seen to be issuing from the premises and an assistance message of 'Make Pumps 4' was made, further appliances from Padstow and Bodmin were mobilised,
The fire involved a cottage of two floors, with the fire involving the whole floor area and spread to the roof.

Update 2000 hours: Teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are committed at the incident, three main jets are in use at this time. Further resources are in attendance, the Command Upport Unit from Launceston, the Operational Service Vehicle from St. Austell, the water carrier from Liskeard also the Environmental Support Vehicle and a supporting appliance from Saltash. Also in attendance are the welfare vehicle from St. Dennis and the Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle from Tolvaddon. A total of 57 personnel are in attendance at the incident.

Update 2100 hours: The fire has now been extinguished, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are damping down and undertaking salvage operations. Some resources are leaving the scene and returning to their home stations.
