Fire In Immersion Tank

One appliance from Liskeard and one from Bodmin attended a call to smoke in a property at 15:30. On arrival the first crew reported a strong smell coming from a boiler on the first floor at the rear of the property. The crew used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to investigate.
After a thorough search the Firefighters confirmed that there had been a small fire in the immersion heater but it was out on arrival.
A new smoke detector was fitted by the firefighters.
