Smoke Issuing From Builing

Called to Wesley Yard Newquay at 2159 to smoke seen issuing from building. We received several calls and mobilisrd three pumps from Newquay and St.Columb, StnO King was the OiC. Following investagation it was found that the fire had been started in rubbish under the stairwell of the building which was used as a surf board factory - various chemicals stored within the factory were unaffected. The building was smoke logged and crews used 6 sets of breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan to vent the building. It was thought to be caused by arson.
