Fifteen firefighters on three appliances from Penzance and Hayle attended a call to a large amount of material measuring approximately 15 square metres which had been set alight deliberately. The fire had began to spread towards static caravans and also included various gas cylinders. Crews initially used one main jet and one hose reel jet to prevent the fire from spreading. As further resources attended crews increased equipment in use to two ground monitors supplied by a hydrant, one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus. Cornwall Council Environmental Health officers attended the scene and the Environmental agency and Police were also informed of the fire. Crews confirmed that propane and LPG cylinders were involved in the fire. At 16:34 crews confirmed that four breathing apparatus were in use using one hose reel jet, one ground monitor and drag forks to damp the fire down.
