A30, Eastbound, between Summercourt and Fraddon at 07/07/2017 12:38

Over fifty 999 calls were received to a fire on the verge of the eastbound carriageway of the A30, between Summercourt and Fraddon. One fire appliance from Newquay Community Fire Station was mobilised. Firefighters used one hosereel to extinguish the fire by 1310hrs. Police and the Highways Agency also attended to assist with the safety of the traffic.

The public are reminded to be responsible and not throw lit cigarette ends from a vehicle, as they have the potential to start a fire in the dry vegetation.
