Workshop Fire

St Erth,Praze at 30/07/2017 06:30

We currently have six pumping appliances from Tolvaddon, Hayle, St Ives, two water carriers from Helston and Wadebridge and supporting vehicles from Falmouth and St Just in attendance at a workshop fire in St Erth Praze.
On arrival the first two appliances confirmed an agricultural building measuring 12 by 10 meters was well alight and had spread to three vehicles. The firefighters requested an additional two pumps, then another two shortly after due to pure water supplies.
Firefighters have divided the building fire into two operational sectors and are using breathing apparatus and multiple hose reels to fight the flames.

Road closures are currently in place along the B3302 around the fire and local residents around the Country Skittles vicinity are asked to keep doors and windows closed due to the smoke plume.

Update 0610: The incident has now been scaled back to one appliance. The fire is now extinguished and the Firefighters are making up their equipment before leaving the scene. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, however it spread to four nearby cars.

The road closure will be lifted shortly.

We currently have no further information on this incident, the newsdesk will be updated as and when new information is received.
