On receipt of this call appliances from Hayle and Tolvaddon were mobilised, on arrival at the scene the crews declared the incident as 'persons reported', the fire involved a building approximately ten by eight metres over three floors, divided into flats, the fire was located on the second floor, teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the premises with a high pressure hosereel jet, to extinguish the fire, it was quickly established that all persons were accounted for, an ambulance was requested to attend to treat two casualties for the effects of smoke inhalation and slight burns. Due to the nature of the incident a fire investigation will take place on Friday morning.
