50 Ft Boat In Danger of Sinking Pumped Out

Six firefighters on one appliance from Torpoint attended a request to assist the prevention of pollution to the lake from a fishing boat which was sinking. Threat to the environment was being made by fuel and oil stored within the vessel. With assistance from a tug boat Firefighters and their equipment was taken to the vessel and an portable pumps were used to remove water from the sinking vessel to prevent it from sinking. Over the course of the morning circa 50,000 litres of clean water have been removed from the vessel. There are no further details available on this incident.
