Shed Fire Spread To Roof of Bungalow

Two fire appliances from Truro, two fire appliances from St Austell and a fire appliance from Mevagissey are in attendance at a fire that started in a shed and has spread to the roof of a bungalow, The firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, are using two hosereels and two jets to extinguish the fire and stop it spreading further.

8 Firefighters in teams wearing breathing apparatus used multiple firefighting jets to prevent the entire building from being lost.

A fifth pump from Mevagissey was also mobilised, as well as the operational support vehicle from St. Austell, due to the rapid usage of breathing apparatus wearers. At its height, there were 30+ Service personnel on scene. Extensive damage was caused. Thankfully, no one was hurt. The Red Cross welfare vehicle also attended to assist the home owners.

During this incident crews from Mevagissey and Fowey, assisting in the area, were also mobilised to a property fire in St Austell. Further details on this incident can be found from the News Desk.
