Appliances from Helston, Mullion and Falmouth were mobilised to a supermarket in Helston at 01:30 following a smoke detector sounding. On arrival the first appliance found the store to be heavily smoke logged and used breathing apparatus, a hose reel,a covering jet and a thermal imaging camera to enter the building. Firefighters found a fire in the store and extinguished the flames before ventilating. Medically trained Firefighters from The Co Responder Unit treated two males with smoke inhalation on scene before Ambulances arrival.

A fire investigation will take place in the morning to confirm the cause of the fire.
