Ten firefighters on two appliances from St Austell and Bodmin were mobilised to a call to a property where a tumble dryer was on fire. On arrival of an officer on scene they made the incident 'Persons Reported' and requested further assistance, two further appliances were mobilised from Bodmin and St Austell. Police were requested to attend the incident scene to assist with traffic as the incident was located close to a busy crossroads. Crews soon confirmed 'all persons accounted for'. The property involved was on three floors with the fire located on the first floor. Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, one safety jet and a covering jet. The fire had burned through an electrical cable and Western Power engineers were requested to attend to make the burned cable safe. At 13:15 the fire was confirmed as out, crews used breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to check the building for hot spots. The red Cross Emergency Response vehicle was also mobilised to this incident to provide support to the occupants of the premise. Currently (14:35) crews remain on scene cutting away and damping down the scene.
