Property Fire

Trefusis Terrace, Redruth at 17/11/2004 21:53

Crews from Redruth and Camborne were mobilised to this incident. On arrival crews found that the property was heavily smokelogged, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and extinguished the fire using a hosereel. The fire was caused by the cooker, but the property had a smoke detector which had worked and therefore damage was kept to a minimum.

Push the Button, Not Your Luck

Every day someone dies in a fire because they didn't have a working smoke alarm.

When was the last time you tested that your smoke alarm was working?

Smoke alarms should and can be an essential part of every home's safety and every family's protection - providing they work!

Smoke alarms should be tested every week and the batteries changed every year (unless it is a 10 year alarm). It is best to replace smoke alarms with completely new units after 10 years.
