Fire In the Open

Gulval at 28/10/2017 18:18

On receipt of a call stating that a controlled burn was getting out of hand, one appliance from Penzance Community Fire Station was mobilised.
Crews used one hose reel jet and a drag fork to extinguish the fire.

If you are planning a large bonfire in Cornwall, inform the Fire and Rescue Service before you start by calling our Critical Control Centre on 0203 162 2240.
Tell the Critical Control Operator:
• Your location.
• Time you intend to start burning.
• Confirm when you have finished burning.

This helps us avoid sending fire engines to false alarms when they could be responding to a real emergency.
