Connon Bridge Landfill Site, East Taphouse at 30/10/2017 06:49


On receipt of a call to the Critical Control Centre crews were mobilised to an industrial site that was seen to have smoke issuing from the building. On arrival the crews requested the assistance of more appliances and specialist equipment.

IMPORTANT HEALTH MESSAGE: Please can all homeowners and residents in the area keep their windows and doors closed.

0915 At this time we have six appliances and three whole time officers on scene being supported by an Incident Command Unit, an Operational Support Unit, two Water Carriers and an Aerial Ladder Platform. Crews are currently using four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and thermal image cameras.

0925 PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT Please be advised that public access to the site is closed until further notice.

1004 Crews using breathing apparatus, positive pressure ventilation, ground monitors and hose reel jets.

1200 PUBLIC INFORMATION There are no road closures in place but it is advised to drive slowly and with caution in the area.

1556 One crew will remain on scene damping down hotspots. All other appliances will be returning to their stations.
