On receipt of this call Fire Control classified the incident as 'Persons Reported' resources from St. Columb, Perranporth and St. Dennis were mobilised, on arrival at the scene it was quickly established that an elderly occupant was out of the premises, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property with a CO2 extinguisher to extinguish the fire involving a mattress, the positive pressure fan was used to ventilate the premises. An ambulance was requested to treat a casualty for the effects of smoke inhalation and a fall. The Red Cross Emergency Response (RCER) vehicle attended the incident to give support. Devon & Cornwall Police were also in attendance.
