On receipt of a call stating that a fuel tanker had overturned, one appliance from Launceston and the rescue tender from Bodmin were mobilised along with a wholetime officer. On arrival the crew found a large goods vehicle on its side, containing 14,000 litres of LPG, the tanker itself was intact but there was a significant leak of diesel from the fuel tank. Crews ensured the area was safe and a cordon has been put in place, the A395 is closed at this time. The road is likely to be closed for most of the day while arrangements are in place to decant the LPG from the tanker before righting it.
The ambulance service were in attendance as well as Devon & Cornwall Police, from whom further details may be obtained.
