At 16:16 the first call was received stating that there was smoke issuing from the roof of a building. Appliances from Torpoint, Saltash and Liskeard were mobilised with a Wholetime fire officer. Upon arrival a fourth appliance was requested along with an Aerial Ladder Platform and a water carrier. At this point an additional wholetime fire officer was mobilised.

Special appliances from Launceston, St Austell and St Dennis have been mobilised to support the crews on scene.

Devon and Cornwall police are also in attendance and we are advising people to avoid the area due to the traffic.

** Update 21:22 ** Appliances are now starting to return to home stations from this incident. Crews have used multiple hose reel jets to extinguish a fire in the roof space of the property.
Firefighters on an Aerial Ladder Platform removed slates from roof and located hotspots.
A fire investigation team will attend the property in the morning to investigate the cause of this fire.
