Water Rescue

Carnhell Green at 26/12/2017 19:05

At 17:50hrs the Critical Control Centre received a call from Devon and Cornwall Police to a report of a vehicle stuck in flood water. The original caller could see the vehicle but not make any contact with the occupant of the vehicle. The water level had reached the bottom of the vehicle doors.

Two appliances from Tolvaddon Fire Station, water rescue teams from Penzance and Falmouth Fire Stations and three wholetime officers were mobilized.

The first appliance on scene was able to confirm the flood water was shallow enough to push the vehicle to safety and further resources were not required. The crew checked the occupant was safe, well and did not require any medical treatment.

Cornwall Highways team were requested to close the road as the flood water made the road unpassable.
