Cornwall Fire and Rescue service received multiple calls from members of the public reporting a Fire at a launderette in East Street, Newquay.
Two pumps from Newquay, one pump from St Columb Community Fire Station and an on duty officer were immediately mobilised by Fire Control.
On arrival the officer in charge confirmed a fire at the launderette within a gas type dryer.
Crews used two hose reel jet, four breathing apparatus at stage two and made pumps four. One pump from Perranporth Community Fire Station was immediately mobilised by Fire Control to make pumps four.
One breathing apparatus team entered the building with a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
The incident was left safe and in the hands of the occupants.
