Carbon Monoxide Alarm

Week St Mary at 04/01/2018 00:27

One appliance from Bude Community Fire Station attended. The crew wore breathing apparatus to enter the building and used a gas detector to show reading of 31 parts per million on an initial reading. This level dropped to an acceptable level of 12 and the cause was thought to be a faulty open coal fire. The crew cleaned and emptied the hearth and advised the family to seek medical attention as a precautionary measure, although no-one was feeling unwell at the time. They were also advised to get any other appliances serviced as a precautionary measure. There are no other details for this incident.
