Unwanted Fire In Gas Fire

A resident from Grampound called 999 this afternoon after an unwanted fire started behind a lounge gas fire. The Critical Control Centre mobilized two appliances, one from St Austell and one from Truro.
When the first appliance arrived the fire was believed to be extinguished and crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to investigate. Wales and West Utilities attended the incident and isolated the gas supply to the property.
