The Critical Control Centre received a call at 11:18 from a local resident reporting their tumble dryer had caught fire, the fire was thought to be out but the plug was blackened and stuck in the socket.

An appliance from Torpoint Fire Station and an appliance from Liskeard Fire Station were mobilized to the incident. At 11:31 the Torpoint appliance confirmed there had been a small fire in the kitchen and the tumble dryer was suspected to be faulty. Safety advice was given by the crew.

The oncoming appliance from Liskeard was stood down on route and returned to home station.
