False Alarm - Controlled Burn

Maddever Crescent, Liskeard at 03/02/2018 13:56

This afternoon two appliances from Liskeard Community Fire Station were mobilised to reports of fire in what was believed to be a bungalow or a garden. After a second call from the resident it was discovered that it was a controlled burn that the member of the public had failed to inform us of.

If you are planning a any sort of bonfire in Cornwall, please inform the Fire and Rescue Service before you start by calling our Critical Control Centre on 0203 162 2240.

Tell the Critical Control Operator:
• Your location.
• Time you intend to start burning.
• Confirm when you have finished burning.

This helps us avoid sending fire engines to false alarms when they could be responding to a real emergency.
