Chimney Fire

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting a chimney fire at a property in St Ives. One pump from St Ives Community Fire Station was mobilised immediately by Fire Control.

On arrival crews confirmed that the chimney was well alight. One stirrup pump and a thermal imaging camera was used to extinguish the fire.

Over the last three years Cornwall firefighters have tackled 571 chimney fires. Most chimney fires are preventable by having them swept regularly.
