The Critical Control Centre received a call at 19:50hrs from a homeowner reporting the kitchen filling up with smoke.

Two appliances from St Austell Fire Station were immediately mobilized. On arrival the crews investigated the cause of the smoke. A fire was located in a neighboring property out-building. One hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire and the cause is suspected to be candles being left unattended.
