A call was received in Fire Control from an address in Hayle. The smoke alarm could be heard and an elderly occupant shouting for help this was immediately made persons reported.
One appliance from Hayle, one appliance from Tolvaddon, one appliance from St Ives and an Officer were immediately mobilised. On arrival there was smoke issuing from the building and a team of two breathing apparatus wearers rapidly entered the property, dealt with the fire using hosereel and also rescued one dog.
The property was single storey domestic measuring approximately 7m by 5m with a fire located in the kitchen. The breathing apparatus teams increased to four and two hosereel were used to put the fire out.
One elderly female was out of the property prior to the arrival of the crew, she was suffering smoke inhalation and an Amb was requested.
