A number of calls were received by our Critical Control Centre this morning reporting a road traffic collision in the area of Stithians Reservoir. The reports were of a moped and a van being in collision and smoke issuing from the vehicles.

An appliance from Tolvaddon Fire Station and an appliance from Falmouth Fire Station were mobilized. On arrival our crews found the vehicles well alight, with all persons out of the vehicles.

The crew used 2 hose reels and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

South Western Ambulance also attended to assess the occupants of the vehicles and the incident was handed over to Devon and Cornwall Police.
