Carbon Monoxide

The Critical Control Centre received an emergency call from Ambulance control at 13:56 this afternoon. Ambulance were in attendance at a property where a carbon monoxide alarm was sounding.

One appliance from Launceston and a whole time officer was mobilised to the incident. On arrival crews used two breathing apparatus to enter the property and discovered a carbon monoxide reading of 50 parts per million. Firefighters evacuated and ventilated the property.

Carbon Monoxide is potentially fatal and even low-levels of the poison can cause lasting damage to your health. You can't smell it, see it or taste it, but it could be there now.
