Caravan Fire

Poundstock, Bude at 23/03/2018 00:53

At 23:50 this evening the Critical Control Centre received an emergency call, regarding a caravan on fire. Two appliances from Bude and a whole time officer were mobilised to the incident.

On arrival crews discovered one static caravan, fully involved in fire. Firefighters located cylinders to the rear of the caravan. The cylinders were checked using a thermal imagining camera, and found to be cold. Crews were then enable to move them to a safe location, away from the fire.

Two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire. This incident is confirmed as accidental and confined.

Did you know that on average 360 fires per year occur in caravans? It’s important to remember that fire safety doesn’t stop when you leave the house.
