Our Critical Control Centre received a large volume of 999 calls reporting a fire in a block of flats. Fire Control operators were able to establish the fire was on the top (third) floor. Three Fire appliances and an Ariel Ladder Platform were assigned to the incident. The first crews quick action prevented any escalation of the incident. They used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. Residents discovered the fire because there was a working smoke alarm system in place.
