Cornwall Fire and Rescue service received multiple calls from members of the public reporting a vehicle fire in Penwithick Road, Penwithick. One pump from St Austell Community Fire Station was immediately mobilised by Fire Control.
On arrival the officer in charge confirmed one abandoned vehicle, well alight. Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets. Arson was suspected and the Police had been informed.
The fire was confirmed as confined and the incident was left safe and in the hands of the Police.
