Fire Residential

Promenade, Penzance at 03/04/2018 05:50

On receipt of a 999 call informing the Critical Control Centre of smoke coming from floor boards in residential flats, one appliance from Penzance, St Just and a whole time officer were immediately mobilised.

On arrival firefighters found a small fire in the floorboards. Small gear was used to cut away and the fire was extinguished using a CO2 extinguisher.

The fire was confirmed as accidental.

Fires happen when you least expect them, often during the night. They also spread very quickly, damaging property, killing and injuring people. A smoke alarm is a warning device that detects smoke at the earliest stages of a fire. When it detects a fire, it will make a piercing noise to alert or wake you.
