Crews from St. Just and Penzance attended this large fire which could be seen from quite a distance. On arrival crews found the fire involved two 250 metre fronts on hazardous terrain. Crews tackled the fire using beaters and were delayed for a considerable time. The total area involved at the end of the incident involved 20 hectares. The last crew returned to station at approximately 0130 hours.
Arson was suspected. Further details may be obtained from Devon & Cornwall Police.
