On receipt of a call from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue, one appliance from Launceston was requested to assist at a large fire involving moorland.
The Launceston appliance made up a total of eighteen resources at the incident
The fire involved a fire front which was 2km x 3km and fire on all four fronts.
Crews attended from: Okehampton, Hatherleigh, North Tawton, Chagford, Tavistock, Chulmleigh, Moretonhampstead, Launceston, Middlemoor, Honiton, Crediton, Danes Castle, Bovey Tracey, Yelverton, Torrington, Holsworthy, Ivybridge, Buckfastleigh, Exmouth, Witheridge, Newton Abbot and Plymstock.
The Launceston appliance returned shortly after 2000 hours. The incident will be monitored.
