Chimney Fire

Our Critical Control Centre received a call from a property in Polkerris at 11:45hrs stating they had evacuated due to a chimney fire at the property.
A crew from St Austell Fire Station who working out in the community at the time were asked to proceed to the address. On arrival the crew extinguished a fire in the grate of the open fire and investigated the loft space using a triple extension ladder.
At 12:48hrs the crew confirmed a chimney fire had been extinguished and the property checked using a thermal imaging camera.
The fire was confirmed as accidental and confined.
