Following a request from our colleagues at South West Ambulance Service our Critical Control mobilized Mullion Fire Station to assist with the extrication of a female who had fallen down an embankment and could not self extricate.
On arrival the crew reported that the female was approximately 10M down a steep slope into a wooded area after slipping on a wet pathway with a suspected broken ankle. A technical rescue officer was also mobilized and assisted with the co-ordination of the rescue.
Working alongside colleagues from the Coastguard and Ambulance Service our crew administered first aid, assisted to package the casualty safely onto a stretcher for extrication to a waiting ambulance.
