Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public reporting a bullock stuck in the mud of the River Camel, Wadebridge. One pump from Wadebridge, the rescue tender from Bodmin, the water rescue from St Austell Community Fire Station’s along with two wholetime officers were immediately mobilised by the Critical Control Centre.

On arrival the officer in charge confirmed one bullock stuck in approximately six foot of mud, 10 feet from the river’s edge.

Crews carried out scene assessment and engaged setting up lines and a rescue path.

Update @ 11:08 - One bullock successfully rescued. Crews detained 45 minutes making equipment up.
