Residential Fire

Pool, Tolvaddon at 26/05/2018 12:34

At 11:20 this morning the Critical Control Centre received an emergency call regarding a residential property on fire.

Two appliances from Tolvaddon were immediately mobilised. A further appliance from Truro and a whole time officer also attended the incident.

On arrival crews discovered smoke issuing, with a confirmed fire on the ground floor of a domestic property. Firefighters then used four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one covering jet and a thermal imaging camera.

After investigating the cause of the fire crews have confirmed that it was accidental and spread.

Fires happen when you least expect them, often during the night. They also spread very quickly, damaging property, killing and injuring people. A smoke alarm is a warning device that detects smoke at the earliest stages of a fire. When it detects a fire, it will make a piercing noise to alert or wake you.
