On the initial call for this incident, crews from Wadebridge were mobilised. On arrival it became apparent that further resources were required as one shop was well alight and the fire was spreading to two further shops. Total of six major appliances, the aerial ladder platform and further specialist equipment was mobilised to the incident. Approximately 70 firefighters were involved at the incident, several teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were involved in fighting the fire, the crews used jets also hosereels to bring the blaze under control at approximately 2100 hours, although a crew remained at the scene overnight damping down and monitoring the scene. One crew from Wadebridge were on scene throughout Sunday monitoring the situation. Investigations are ongoing. Further details may be obtained from Devon & Cornwall Police.
