Two fire crews from Launceston were called to a fire in the first floor of this property. The occupant had been alerted to the fire by a working smoke alarm. The fire was contained to the shower room and the cause was confimed as accidental. The smoke alarm probably saved the occupiers life. The fire service recommend that everyone should have a working smoke alarm on every floor of their property and they should check them once a week.
