A team of women from Cornwall County Fire Brigade will be strutting their stuff at Sainsburys this Saturday to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund.

The team of thirteen are taking part in the Playtex Moonwalk which takes place in London on 18th June 2005 and raises money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. The moonwalk is 26.2 miles long (the same length as the London Marathon) and is a power walk marathon over night.

They have had a gruelling training schedule to maintain, walking three times a week, and increasing their lengths of walk by 2-5 miles a week. They are now three weeks away from the main event and are using the day at Sainsburys as part of their training programme. They will be taking it in turns to walk on a treadmill and encouraging people to donate money. All in their bras!

The women need to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship money each but hope to raise more than that to split between the two charities. As well as this event at Sainsburys they have held a second hand clothes sale at work and will be doing one of their training walks on the Camel Trail on the 4th June.
